| Andy was
born and raised in Ashtabula, OH. After
graduating high school, Andy attended
Robert Morris College in Moon Township
where he became a four year member of
the cheerleading squad. He also joined
our staff in 1990.
Many of you
may remember Andy from teaching at our
previous cheer-gym in Hopewell Township,
from a camp, tryout or from being a
spotter at every competition we hosted.
Andy also was a spotter for the PA State
Championships in Johnstown for many
years. Most of you who would have known
Andy are probably graduated from college
by now but we are confident you will
remember him.
Andy was
the silly one of our group. He had the
ability to make us laugh and was the
most optimistic person we've ever known.
You would never hear a negative comment
from Andy. He loved working with
children and had great respect for the
world of cheerleading. Many of our
students would request Andy as their
instructor. They gravitated to him
because of his sense of humor and
positive attitude. He loved to dance and
was a natural born performer.....a real
ham!
Those of
us who are fortunate enough to have Andy
as a friend will live a better life
because of him. He was a joy to be
around. He lived his life to the
fullest.
As Andy
faced many challenges with his health in
the past few years, we all saw the
embodiment of his life to the very end
.......always optimistic and happy! When
Andy passed away on January 5, 2007 due
to complications from leukemia at the
age of 38, Andy had his wife Kim and
family by his side. He also left a son,
Drew, who celebrated his first birthday
in November, 2006.
Andy, our
world will be poorer for your death yet
so much richer because you lived. Our
time together was very short but you
will be remembered in our hearts
forever! |
